I loved this sign. Physically Impossible Entry. This was next to an archway, which led down a little lane. Evidently, the lane was only 1.5 meters wide.
But here’s why this sign is special. It’s in English. And this photo was taken in Southern Spain (in Grenada, Spain to be exact).
I watched no less than four cars turn down the lane, only to hit the narrow part and they had to back up. It was comical to watch. Perhaps if the sign was in Spanish, it would be more impactful.

Coneinn Pizza
Do you love ice cream cones? And do you like pizza? Well, now you can have the best of both worlds!
Coneinn Pizza. Pizza in an ice cream cone.
This wickedly sick and twisted invention was discovered in Grenada, Spain. I can’t believe something like this even exists.

Tio Pepe
As a sign addict, every once in a while, you bag one of the great ones. You get the chance to shoot one of the all-time great iconic signs. A sign that is infamous – in location, time and aesthetic.
In November, I had the opportunity to shoot just such a sign: Tio Pepe in Madrid. This gigantic sign sits above heart of Spain – the Plaza of the Puerta del Sol. Literally, this square is the heart of Spain – it is the geographic center of the country.
Tio Pepe is an icon.

Trite
I was in Dallas, Texas for Christmas and I noted this sign at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ. How trite can you get? This is definitely a submission for my friends over at the Crummy Church Signs blog.
It’s good to know the folks at the Walnut Hill Church of Christ can do math. However, wouldn’t this sign be more appropriate during Easter celebrations, instead of Christmas?

The World of Coke
I love Coca Cola signs. Anywhere you are in the world, you can be certain you will find at least one Coke sign. Coke was the original pioneer of globalization.
I spied this Coke sign on a side street in Tangier, Morocco. Usually the Coke signs have both native language as well as English branding, but this sign is only in Arabic.

The Death of George Bush
We were in Tangier, Morocco the day after the U.S. Presidential election. Barack Obama was victorious and the rest of the world was cheering the ultimate demise of George Bush.
With that background, we were walking through the cemetery of St. Andrew’s Church in Tanger, Morocco. Our local guide pointed out the tombstone of George Bush.
It was definitely ironic.
